About

About Us

  • About National Honor Society
NHS is a nationwide organization that recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of our four pillars: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Students can be inducted into the Kennett chapter their junior or senior year.
  • What We Do
Members of our society work to set an example of the four pillars in our school and community. This year we will be fundraising for a new scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior. We also strive to be an academic resource for other students and hope to start several new projects this year that will contribute to this goal.
  • Membership Requirements
The requirements to join this organization are based on its four pillars of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Through a comprehensive application process students must demonstrate their merit in each of these facets of their lives. In this application students show their scholarship through strong academic grades; their character and leadership through an essay and personal recommendations; and their service through the community outreach activities in which they participate. Once complete, these applications are reviewed by a board of teachers who choose to admit students that display excellence in each of the four pillars to our society.
  • Our Board
President: Eva Drummond Vice President: TBA *(junior position) Treasurer: Keith Badger Secretary: Grace Jarrell Historian: Kate Keefe Each position is determined by an election held annually at one of the biweekly meetings of the Honor Society.
